What it is

What Is a SEG Fabric Light Box?

A SEG fabric light box is an aluminium frame with an LED light engine and a tensioned polyester graphic. The printed fabric carries a silicone edge that presses into a groove in the frame, so the face stays flat with no visible fixings.

It is not a video screen, and it is not the same as a pillowcase fabric display. The frame groove, the silicone edge and the distance between the LEDs and the fabric are what make the face look even.

What Buyers Ask Before Placing a Light Box Order

Why do two quotes for the same visible size look so different?

Visible size is only one line of the specification. Profile depth, LED pitch, diffuser grade, driver model, fabric weight and packing all change the result and the cost. Ask every supplier for the same six values, plus the method they use to measure brightness and uniformity. Our technical specification reference lists what belongs in a like-for-like comparison.

How can I verify brightness and uniformity before the full batch?

Agree the measurement method first: meter type, distance from the face and nine measurement points. Approve a pre-production sample with your graphic fitted, record the readings, and keep that sample as the batch reference. A single centre reading hides dark corners, and average brightness without a minimum uniformity figure cannot be enforced at goods-in.

What actually drives lead time on a custom order?

Drawing sign-off, pre-production sample, artwork proof, LED and driver lead time, packing and freight. The clock starts when the drawing is approved, not when the enquiry arrives. Ask for a stage-by-stage timeline with owners, and plan backwards from the opening or show date, including the Chinese New Year window and venue receiving deadlines.
